Henstridge Burial Ground during the Covid-19 pandemic

Henstridge Parish Council wishes to remind residents to observe the social distancing rules while tending the graves of loved ones during the pandemic.  Please try to avoid touching surfaces and ensure you wash your hands when returning home.  If a funeral is in process, the burial ground will be closed to visitors.

In line with Government guidance, funeral services should only be attended by members of the immediate family who are not in any of the high-risk categories and are not self-isolating.  The number of mourners must be restricted to ensure a safe distance of 2 metres (6ft) can be maintained between individuals.   Only the following people should attend:

  • members of the person’s household
  • close family members
  • if the deceased has neither household or family members in attendance, then it is possible for a modest number of friends to attend

The Parish Council realises that this is very difficult for people but needs to ensure everyone’s safety and help to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
