Hello, my name is Felicity Bailey and I am delighted to be writing my first message as your appointed CCS Village Agent. I am here to support individuals in the local community.
The Village Agent Project is run by the Community Council for Somerset (CCS) and funded by Henstridge Parish Council.
CCS Village Agents live in or near to the parishes they support and offer free and confidential practical support to local people. CCS Village Agents often help where others won’t, don’t or can’t.
Some people find it difficult to get help and support they need for all sorts of reasons – they may be unsure of or do not know where to turn to, they maybe isolated or have no access to technology. Some may simply not want be a nuisance or think that no-one can help as they are not aware of what is available to them.
As a CCS Village Agent that’s where I can help and be there for you. I will be able to support you in various issues such as benefit checks, fire safety checks or transport needs. I will be getting involved in your community and providing information tailored to your individual needs. Where there is a gap in a service and a need apparent, I hope to initiate new projects to support this, enabling positive change for people in the local community.
I will be available in the area at Loose Ends and other events so I hope to get to know the community soon.
